Where is the best place to start riding? If you want to learn how to ride correctly, it is better to start with individual lessons in the arena under the guidance of an experienced coach: he will deal directly with you and immediately correct mistakes in your riding technique. Having mastered the basics of riding, you can try yourself in show jumping (a type of equestrian sport in which a rider on a horse overcomes from 6 to 13 different obstacles located along a certain route), dressage (a kind of horse dance), vaulting (a rider on a running or galloping horse performs various gymnastic exercises), etc. In our school, it is the correct training and work with horses. You can, of course, go to a regular group lesson but in this case, you should take into account the likelihood that you will not be given the attention you expect, that errors in the correct technique will not be pointed out to you. And it will be much more difficult to correct the already existing incorrect technique, which you get used to, later on. If, in addition, you choose to ride through the fields and forests, then the likelihood of an accident when falling from a horse with an uncertain landing and improper riding technique increases.

At what age can you learn horseback riding at our school? At the age of 5-6, a child can be given full-fledged lessons at our riding school. At this age, children are already able to learn to "ride", i.e. to control the horse correctly. The main requirement - know the concept of "right" and "left" and carefully follow the commands of the coach. Group lessons for children are not welcome, because children require much more individual attention than an adult in order to provide a safe experience. If you strive to achieve high results in dressage or show jumping, of course, it takes more than one year of lessons and individual training under the guidance of an experienced coach. And, accordingly, the earlier and more often you start riding, the higher level of skill you can achieve in equestrian sport and take part in competitions.

How many times should you practice? It all depends on your desire and the goals that you have set for yourself (what you want to achieve). If you want to practice professionally, then you should practice 5-6 times a week. If at an amateur level, then 3-4 times a week. If equestrian sport is relaxation for you and just communication with a horse, then as much as you want.

How to quickly learn to ride a horse? How quickly you learn to ride depends entirely on your desire, abilities, perseverance, physical fitness, the place of training, the qualifications of the coach, the number of lessons, etc. On average, you can acquire basic riding skills and a fairly confident technique in a few months of constant (at least 2 times a week) lessons. After the initial training, you can just ride for pleasure, gradually gaining experience, or go in for equestrian sports professionally. And as you know, there is no limit to the improvement of skills.

Riding clothes? If you are not sure that you will be riding for a long time, but just want to try it, it is better not to buy anything special for the first lessons. Regular jeans or leggings without seams and boots with a flat sole and a small heel, preferably without laces, will do. It is also better to wear gloves (not thick ones) on your hands. If later you decide to continue with lessons, you should purchase breeches, riding boots or boots with chaps, as well as special riding gloves. A helmet is required for children and adults, a protective vest is required only for children under 14 years of age.

What and how can you feed a horse?1. Lump sugar. In small quantities, this is a great treat that horses love very much. However, consuming it in large quantities can be detrimental to the health of the horse. 2. Apples and carrots are great treats for horses and are also high in vitamins. Naturally, they should be free of mold, rot and sand. Whole large apples, like carrots, should not be given. The horse may choke on a large piece. Therefore, large apples and carrots should be cut into pieces and fed from a wide open palm. 3. Treats for horses. You can simply buy special treats for horses, that are sold in any equestrian shop.

Riding SafetyAmong all sports, equestrian accounts for relatively few injuries. The horse by its nature is an affectionate and sensitive animal, submissive and executive. Rather shy than aggressive, in natural conditions, in danger, flees. At the same time, physically, this is a very strong animal, endowed by nature with powerful means of protection from enemies: teeth and hooves and surprisingly fast reactions. In this regard, we must not forget that in case of inept handling of a horse or under the influence of external factors, it may behave undesirably and get out of submission. However, with skillful handling and compliance with all safety regulations and certain precautions, the likelihood of injury can be minimized and eliminated.
